Since 1997, Against Me! has toured incessantly and released albums on respected labels No Idea Records and Fat Wreck Chords, before moving to Sire. Xtra Mile Recordings re-released White Crosses in 2011 alongside Black Crosses, which includes live sessions and non-album tracks. They've gone further than any punk rock band can be expected to, but they continually move the goalposts. Their sixth album, Transgender Dysphoria Blues, released by Xtra Mile in 2014, deals with gender identity disorder, love and loss, all of which singer Laura Jane Grace has dealt with in her life. The album features Fat Mike of NOFX on bass, and drummer Atom Willard, formerly of Rocket From the Crypt, Social Distortion, Angels & Airwaves and The Offspring. Along with long-term Against Me! guitarist James Bowman, the band's personnel changes haven't swayed the impact they continue to make. With publications like Rolling Stone, Newsweek, Time, Rock Sound, Kerrang!, Pitchfork, and Noisey (VICE) all featuring the album prominently in their 2014 end of year lists, they've punched a significant niche into the rock landscape showing the last 17 years have been anything but wasted.
