Sam Duckworth, the man behind Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. and Recreations, has an enviable work ethic. Perfectly fine with revealing a new moniker after years of playing under Get Cape, and releasing two studio EPs, a debut album (Baby Boomers 2) and a live EP in 2016, Sam returned to his own name for another solo album recorded in the early days of 2017. Called Kingdoms, the nine-song collection expresses the despair, the hope and the constructive approach to repairing the damage of the last few years. Political without judgement, poignant without teary-nostalgia, and defiant with direction, the album heralds another offshoot of musical evolution for the ambitious 30-something. Having toured with a 12-piece band, and toyed with ideas about reforming Kingdoms and The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager with this new lineup, Sam revived Get Cape after releasing new album Young Adult in 2018 and has run with it once again. Sam Duckworth has only just begun getting our attention and he's built to last.
